How many letters are in the Swedish alphabet?

The Swedish alphabet has 29 letters: A–Z, followed by Å, Ä and Ö. Å, Ä and Ö are separate letters. This poster pairs every letter with a Swedish word and a picture.

What’s included

Each PDF has two A4 pages: the original Swedish learning sheet and a separate grown-up guide in English. Print just the sheet if you prefer. The coloring artwork also includes its original English phrase.

For ages 3–5 with a grown-up. Letter and spelling activities are optional, adult-supported extensions.

Try it together

  1. Choose a picture your child recognises. Point to it and say the Swedish word.
  2. Look for the first letter in your child’s name. Try finding the same letter elsewhere on the sheet.
  3. Explore just a few letters at a time. This is a letter-and-word poster, not a pronunciation chart.
